FROM THE DESK OF LOU BALDWIN
Engage in the 100th Year!

I hope you are doing well and off to a great start for 2017!

When I was young I remember seeing photographs of my grandfather, Richard Benbow, participating in the celebration of Forsyth County’s Centennial. He was part of a large group of local men who grew beards for the Centennial to honor a popular style from 100 years before.  According to Molly Rawls in the Winston-Salem Time Traveler, “the celebration also included the burying of a time capsule, an historical drama, a special worship service, a train trip to Wilmington, and special newspaper supplements.” A number of local REALTORS
® participated as well.

I want to encourage each of you to be as engaged in our 100 Year Celebration of WSRAR! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of this historic year in the history of our Association.

What can you do?
Attend our special events and meetings. We are learning a lot about the history of our community and our Association. Better yet, be a sponsor or a co-sponsor of an event.

Wear your 100th Anniversary lapel pin. If you don’t have one, come by the WSRAR office to get one. Customers and clients will ask you about it and you can tell them you are proud to be part of a professional organization which has played a prominent role in our community for 100 years!

Give to RPAC – our advocacy for homeownership and private property rights is a hallmark of our 100 years. Let’s round the corner to our next 100 with our best year ever supporting our REALTOR
® Political Action Committee.

Help with our monthly Community Service Projects – the WSRAR Giveback100s! This month’s special opportunity is to walk or run in the Hammerbird 5K to support Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County. You will receive a WSRAR 100th Anniversary t-shirt and a Hammerbird t-shirt. Our goal is for 100 members of the REALTOR
® family, including your family and your office staff, to participate in the Hammerbird. Please sign up today.

Make plans to financially support your Association during this important year. We have great opportunities for sponsorship and advertising. Please contact me or the Association staff.

Thank you for all you do to make our Association great! People will look back for years to come at what we do during this historic year. I believe you will never regret the time and resources you put into being  part of this special year.

I am asking you to get engaged in our 100th celebration.

FROM THE DESK OF SAMUEL AUBREY
Decisions.  Decisions.  Decisions
By Samuel Aubrey

We are faced with a barrage of decisions which we need to make on a daily basis.  In the world of real estate, these decisions come from every angle and with increased frequency and velocity.  However, decisions are what allows us the opportunity to move forward in our careers, relationships, and with our businesses.  They are the anticipated inevitable.  How we approach decision-making is what makes the difference between our continued success or failure.

Making timely and good decisions is an art form.  In brief, there are four decision-making steps we should all consider—identify the problem, gather the facts, make the decision, and then implement it.

We all understand that time is of the essence.  We should always give our full, undivided attention to every important decision we have to make.  We should also employ the four decision-making steps with confidence in our ability to decide when we are called upon or are relied upon to do so.

If you haven’t completely done so, embrace this timeless, general introduction to the art of decision-making.  It may make all the difference.

The cost is $600 to be recognized on a digital billboard alongside WSRAR for a month. The billboards rotate every 8 seconds and are a great visual as clients, residents and visitors drive past! Thank you to the sponsors who are already on "board (pun intended)!" Here's an example!

On our website, you are able review the item descriptions and complete a sponsorship form. Thank you for all your support!
