Contributions are not deductible for income tax purposes. Contributions to RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. You may contribute more or less than the suggested amount. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal and the National Association of REALTORS® or any of its state associations or local boards will not favor or disfavor any member because of the amount contributed. 70% of each contribution is used by your state PAC to support state and local political candidates. Until your state PAC reaches its RPAC goal 30% is sent to National RPAC to support federal candidates and is charged against your limits under 2 U.S.C. 441a; after the state PAC reaches its RPAC goal it may elect to retain your entire contribution for use in supporting state and local candidates.

Thank you to Womble Carlyle for sponsoring the September RCA breakfast meeting. Womble Carlyle is a repeat RCA sponsor and we greatly appreciate their support!
Thank you to Cady Thomas, NCAR Director of Governmental Affairs for speaking at the September RCA breakfast meeting. The RCA Division also welcomes Zach DeWaters, WSRAR's new Government Affairs Director.

Basement Square Footage: To Measure all of it or Not?
A large group of the real estate community has been debating the wisdom of whether it should become mandatory for a listing agent to measure the unfinished part of a basement or lower level of a given house. There are 3 constituencies involved in this debate: the appraisers, the sales managers of real estate brokerages, and the listing agents themselves. All 3 have been informally surveyed for purposes of this article.  Click here for the full article.
