I hope all of you have been having a busy and safe summer, with a little bit of fun mixed in.  As we head back to school and into the fall, NAR has designated September as “REALTOR® safety month.”  This year we are paying particular attention to REALTOR® safety due to an incident in Salisbury this summer that reminds us all that any of us could be next.  While being a REALTOR® is one of the best jobs in the world, it still behooves us all to be safe, be smart and have a plan so that you are always prepared and others always know where you are.  Earlier this summer there was an excellent article about safety released by NAR.  You can access it by clicking here.  Make sure you and your office are prepared with a safety plan.  Just a little planning goes a long way toward keeping you safe and productive.

At our Membership Meeting on September 9, Justin DeLancey will give a presentation on the NC Homeowners Alliance. The Homeowners Alliance Campaign is working to strengthen the voice of REALTORS® in North Carolina. Justin will explain how the Alliance's work will help to protect your rights as a property owner and a citizen. Learn how you can help make a difference this fall by volunteering with the Homeowners Alliance.  Visit www.nchomeownersalliance.org to learn more.

The NC Homeowners Alliance:

The North Carolina Homeowners Alliance is the voice for homeowners at the North Carolina General Assembly. We support policies that protect home values for hard working North Carolinians. And we fight legislation that would take money out of your pockets.

It’s a critical time in North Carolina. We need elected officials who know that home ownership is central to our economic recovery. We can be effective only if you join us and make sure the politicians know you want them to protect your investment and your property rights.

We’ll keep you up to date on issues like your mortgage interest deduction, property rights and other critical tax policies. The decisions made by elected officials can directly impact your home value...and your wallet.
