Well, we are halfway through this exciting year as we celebrate 100 years of WSRAR! As your President, it is my duty to deliver the halftime talk, to encourage the team to close strong and to ensure that we put this year in the win column. I have encouraged our committee chairs to have the goal of this being our best year ever! So, we must finish strong to achieve that goal.
First of all, GREAT FIRST HALF!
You have been tending to your businesses and MLS statistics are showing that you are on track for a great year. That’s great news!
Our celebration is going well, too. Our Salute to Presidents at Winmock in January was an enormous success; some said it was our best meeting they had ever attended. We have had proclamations from the City Council, visits from the Mayor, our largest orientation class ever, sponsorships are going well, and we are giving back to our community through our #GiveBack100 Program.
There is a lot more to do in the second half if we are going to pull off a championship season! If you have been on the bench in the first half, we need you to get in the game! Here is your game plan: start with participating in our events, then become a sponsor—our Public Art Initiative and our Commemorative Book are great opportunities to leave your mark on this special year, and please, give to RPAC—with your support, this could be our best year ever in participation and dollars raised!
Please put your name on the stat sheet for this winning season. Leave a legacy as one of the REALTORS® of 2017, the year we celebrated 100 years and kicked-off our second century. It’s not too late to be a star on this Championship REALTOR® Team!
NC REALTOR® and WSRAR’s own Lou Baldwin Wins National Award.
Lou Baldwin was recently awarded the Federal Political Coordinator Meritorious Service Award from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).
“This highly coveted Meritorious Service Award is awarded to two outstanding individuals annually out of a REALTOR membership of over 1.3 million members in the United States. Lou has distinguished himself in a manner few others have accomplished. It is a great honor to have Lou as a member of NC REALTORS®,” stated CEO Andrea Bushnell.
Your Association staff has the privilege of evaluating the many ways in which we can further add value to your experience as a Winston-Salem Regional Association of REALTORS® (WSRAR) member. Whether through education, benefits, professional development, political advocacy, or social engagement, the quest to provide you with the best possible information, opportunities, and solutions is never-ending.
By design, our collective focus is YOU—the member. As a member-centric organization, what you value is what we place our efforts behind. Enhancing the Association to Member relationship is a top priority. As we now set our sights on the second half of 2017, with hopes of finishing our Centennial on an even stronger footing than where we started, we would like to hear from each of you. In the coming weeks, ample opportunities will be made available for you to provide feedback on a variety of topics and to simply share your thoughts and your wisdom—for the betterment of YOUR Association. We are excited to learn from each of you and to share what your Association is currently working to achieve on your behalf.
Thank you for your continued involvement and support of your association staff and leadership!

MLS AND SOCIAL MEDIA
For Your Information:
Always obtain permission from the listing firm and listing agent prior to posting another agent’s listing and/or listing photos on social media
Consider using “Announce My Listing” to post your listings on social media (learn more about this utility by visiting the “Resources” tab in Matrix)
Enter “Coming Soon” listings into Matrix, not onto social media (Triad MLS’ rules on Coming Soon listings are here.) In addition to keeping you in compliance with Triad MLS rules, there are significant advantages to adding your Coming Soon listing to Matrix including: it will get exposure to approximately 4,000 Matrix users as opposed to a potentially much smaller social media audience and buyer’s agents will be able to make appointments for when the listing goes active – this allows sellers to monitor future interest in their home.
In addition to posting listings on social media, consider posting stats from Matrix – become the expert on local market trends! Infosparks on the home page of Matrix makes this easy. For more information about Infosparks, please visit the “Resources” tab in Matrix.

If you are a broker-in-charge, please be sure to have social media policies in place for your office. For details, click here.
