As we celebrate 100 Years of WSRAR this year, we are not only celebrating our history, we are making history!
Recognizing and celebrating our Association’s history is important. In doing so, we are appreciating the people and events that led us to where we are today. The expression, “on the shoulders of giants,” comes to mind when we think of REALTORS® who have contributed so much to the development of our Association and our community. Our Centennial is a significant milestone worthy of celebration! I encourage you to be a part of the festivities and to take advantage of special opportunities, such as advertising in our 100th Year Commemorative Book.
We also have an important opportunity to make history this year, which is the first year of our next 100 years. Sometime soon we will have more members than ever before. We recently had our largest Orientation Class ever with 100 new members! We have acquired the 27,000 s/f building next to our office and have a committee envisioning the role it can play in our future. With your help, RPAC will have a record-breaking year. For the second time in six years, our NC Realtor President comes from WSRAR. These and so much more make this an exciting time. Please engage and be a part of this history making year. If I can help you plug in, please don’t hesitate to call me at (336) 817-6665.
See you at the 100th Anniversary Picnic on August 22nd!
FROM THE DESK OF SAMUEL AUBREY
By Samuel Aubrey
There is an opportunity to expand your horizon and broaden your sphere of influence in real estate that takes just a little effort on your part. It’s called mentoring—and, its value is immeasurable. Many professionals realize the importance of giving and receiving sound advice, sharing their expertise, and walking along side fellow REALTORS® who likewise encounter the highs and lows that oftentimes accompany the cyclical real estate market.
Let’s face it, who would dare attempt to take on market forces and navigate legal, ethical, and other challenges without the guidance of an experienced practitioner who has logged countless hours in the trenches of the business? Not to mention the opportunity to develop great friendships and relationships that only come by working through the seemingly impossible to achieve sought after success. Because real estate is a people business, no one experiences their greatest successes solo.
If you desire to have a mentor, make it a priority to seek out that someone whom you believe will help to develop the best you you can envision. If you are at the stage in your career where sharing your time and talent as an investment in the life of a fellow REALTOR® is possible, don’t let the opportunity pass you by. In either case, it’s one of the smartest and rewarding moves you will make!
Whether you're looking to start a comprehensive training and support program at your brokerage, or you're a newbie real estate practitioner looking for some guidance, this tool kit is here for you. Learn the many ways you and others can continue to grow professionally, no matter where you are in your career.

The WSRAR SUPRA Keyholder Rules and Regulations state, “A keyholder may not use the keypad or app to access a keybox without first calling the listing office to ascertain the availability of the property and to schedule a preview or showing, unless instructed otherwise by the listing office/appointment center (clarification: appointments are required for all vacant and occupied homes, for radon placement and removal, for repeat showings or inspections, etc.) Violations of this rule shall result in penalties, including but not limited to fines up to $500 for each violation and/or suspension from use of the keybox system for a specified period of time.”
