We are off to a great start as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the Winston-Salem Regional Association of REALTORS®!
Thank you to those who have participated in some of our exciting events. Our Salute to Presidents evening January 17 at WinMock at Kinderton was a huge success! A crowd of over 250 came to honor our past presidents and kickoff our 100th Year Celebration! Twenty-eight past presidents enjoyed a special reception prior to the main event. Special thanks to past presidents who played roles in the program including Rick Crowder, Kathy Clark, Trip Smithdeal, Phillip Rector, Treasure Faircloth, Ted Kelly, Ginger Baldwin, Ferrell Clay, Sam Ogburn, Sr., Tom Johnson, Bruce Hubbard and Thomas Maier. It was great to see our former Executive Director Jo Caubré and her husband Ed.
We also offered our gratitude to your 2016 President Thomas Maier, for the great job he and your 2016 Leadership did last year! Thank you Thomas.
It is an honor for our Association to be the home of 2017 NC REALTORS® President Treasure Faircloth. Over 400 Realtors from around the state came to Winston-Salem January 24-27 for NC REALTORS® Meetings and Treasure’s Inaugural Gala. Your Association teamed with Allen Tate and Fairway Independent Mortgage as the sponsors for the President's Reception, held at the Kimpton Cardinal Hotel in the Reynolds Building. Many of our members attended the reception or the Inaugural Gala the following night. I was honored to serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the Inaugural. Congratulations Treasure!
I want to encourage each of you to participate in our special 100th Celebration Community Service Events. In January we collected money to send 100 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies to active duty soldiers. This month we will be giving local police officers 100 tickets to the Wake Forest vs. NC State basketball game. We need your help! See information in this newsletter on how to support these efforts.
There is a lot going on at our Association as we work to make this our best year ever. I welcome your input and suggestions. I can be reached on my cell at 336-817-6665 or Lbaldwin@baldwinco.com.
As always, thank you to our great volunteers and staff for all you are doing.
FROM THE DESK OF SAMUEL AUBREY
A Principle of Servant Leadership
By Samuel Aubrey
When was the last time you offered to share your experiences and the journey that has made you more aware of how we all should be as servant leaders? Like you, at times I find it somewhat challenging to do—even within my sphere of influence. However, in doing so, my thinking is stretched in some very positive ways. The reality is that there is always more we can do—even when we think we are doing a great deal to help others in the ways that we do. The real challenge is in reaching beyond what is within our range of comfort and attempting to do that which brings greater comfort, success, joy, etc., to others. To put it simply, to not rely on our own level of comfort but to expand our own ability to lead through service.
The benefit of practicing true servant leadership is that each of us is allowed to experience the power of selfless service—where the only response is to be moved to action to perpetually repay what cannot be repaid. That never-ending desire to replicate in others the inexplicable gratitude that moves us closer and more intimately into the arena of service to others, is an unquenchable desire that is never quelled.
As an association, the Winston Salem Regional Association of REALTORS® provides numerous opportunities to exercise your service-oriented aspirations—within and outside our industry. Your involvement, great or small, is appreciated by all. As a matter of principle, make 2017 your year to practice leadership through service. You owe it to yourself and others!

You may not sell them to a member of another association. Q. Can I buy boxes from another agent? A. Yes, you can buy boxes from a WSRAR member. Please email us a list of the box serial numbers so we can be sure the boxes are properly assigned to you. This will insure the warranty will remain in effect. What if the key is still inside the box? A. If at all possible, SUPRA will return the key(s) to WSRAR and we will contact you. However, there is a multiple week turnaround time for receiving keys back. We STRONGLY recommend you have an extra set of all keys placed in any type of keybox. Q.
