Every three years, ICP's curators round up some of the most interesting contemporary photography and video works from around the world. The 2013 Triennial, A Different Kind of Order, focuses on artworks created in our current moment of widespread economic, social, and political instability.
Our presentation of "Touching Reality" by Thomas Hirschhorn is the U.S. debut of an important work by a globally renown artist. During this lecture, Hirschhorn will be discussing his article "Why is it Important Today to Show and Look at Images of Destroyed Human Bodies," which provides the arguments for presenting such a difficult work.
