Upcoming Fall Programs at FSY you may not be aware of:
Be a Happy Baby

Read about the latest things you can do to beat stress…
• Smile. Breaking into a smile can measurable lower your heart rate after a stressful event. This engages the muscles around the eyes and mouth. And it has an affect even if you activate the smile action when you don’t fell happy. So fake it until you make it. Or fake it until you can “be happy”.
• Be Here Now with Yoga. Focusing on the present moment through breath work and movement can significantly reduce your levels of the stress hormone cortisol. If you start rehashing the past or worrying about the future, try coming back to your breath.
• Watch the Company you keep. Stress is contagious. If you are around someone with negative attitudes you will likely pick up their energy. Seek out the company of positive people.
• Sing/Chant together. When you sing together your heartbeats synchronize, which results in a calming effect on your body and mind. Singing/chanting releases feel good endorphins. Chanting lowers levels of depression and anxiety, and improves a general sense of well being. The breathing required in chanting slows down the heart rate and calms the nervous system. We offer a monthly practice of chanting. Fall dates: Spetember 20, October 18, November 15, and December 20.
• Affirmations/Mantras. Self-affirmations can protect against the negative side affects of stress. Mantras help keep you calm and confident. They also help you focus and succeed. Manifest your reality with affirmations/mantras. I will introduce you to mantra in my classes and at my monthly Kirtan.
Yoga makes me smile from the inside out, it connects me to that place which is joy.
I look forward to bringing out the Happy Baby in you!
