Hello DPFC People,

Our next event is on Tuesday May 10. We’re screening a documentary about inequality called ‘The Divide’. It’s inspired by the ’Spirit Level’ book and is a brilliant look at what happens when the rich get richer.

The Guardian named it as one of the top five films to see in the cinema this week and it’s getting fantastic reviews:

★★★★  Total Film
★★★★  Time Out "searching.. intimate"
★★★★  The Express "a sensitive exploration of a vital issue"
★★★★  Evening Standard
★★★★  from Peter Bradshaw at the Guardian "a fierce, unsettling critique of inequality”.

So we’re lucky to be screening it, especially so close to the cinema release.

Christopher Hird, who co-founded our lovely Dartmouth Park Film Club, is the producer of the film and it was edited in his attic in Dartmouth Park - giving it two local connections. The Q&A on May 10 will be with both Christo and the director of the film, Katharine Round.

Hopefully see you on May 10!

Lizzie, Christo and Matt

P.S. I’m still on a high from our last event, the screening of SAPPHIRE. Earl and his wife sent a â€˜Thank You’ card and wanted me to thank everyone for coming and making it so special.
