The 2014 MHIVC Winners Tour is coming to an end! Programme details and ticket information HERE.

One more week left.....

A thousand kilometres, five more concerts, two more workshops, and recording a CD.... that's what Nikki's got in store in this final week of his 2014 Winners Tour presented in partnership with Chamber Music New Zealand, the APO, and Musica Viva Australia.

The reviews from the tour have been really spectacular:
"Every note of Beethoven was given its democratic attention…Perfection."
"....had the audience cheering, stamping and clapping their hands off."
"His range of tonal control and colour was staggeringly good."
"His playing is like a book you can't put down."
"With a deeply impressive relationship between all three players, this intensely rich creation came alive in glowing terms, revealing that Chooi is not just a dazzling technician, but a chamber musician of some class."

Nikki has been peppering us with his observations from the road (tractors and donuts!), so please visit www.violincompetition.co.nz and www.facebook.com/MHIVC to follow along.

Programme details and ticket information for concerts in Blenheim,  Invercargill, Dunedin, Queenstown and Melbourne can be found at: http://www.chambermusic.co.nz/whats-on/the-winners-tour-nikki-chooi-2014.

From the Deep South.....

Taking place from Friday 20th to Sunday 29th June, this year the festival celebrates its 40th anniversary so come and join the party. Get involved in all of the festivities on offer...liven up your winter with fireworks, street parties, comedy, live entertainment and crazy antics on and off the mountain. There's fun to be had and laughs to share, with something to entertain and excite everyone.

Sunday 29 June

You can wrap up your weekend in Queenstown with two excellent offerings!  The Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa is offering a delicious three-course degustation menu at their signature restaurant, Wakatipu Grill.  This menu will be designed to perfectly match a selection of Gibbston Valley Wines, with a Winemaker on hand to discuss the matches.  Entertainment by Holly Arrowsmith will ensure a great atmosphere for all.

Then zoom down Lake Wakatipu in a water taxi to Queenstown Memorial Centre to hear Nikki's final NZ tour performance before he heads over the pond.  Nikki and pianist Stephen De Pledge will be performing a snazzy concert with works by De Falla, Beethoven, Ravel and Gershwin.

The Degustation lunch begins at 12:30 and bookings can be made by phoning 03 450-9400 or email info.queenstown@hilton.com
