The JAWS Board has selected the sites for our next three conferences, keeping in mind the membership’s desire to hold CAMP at a beautiful, affordable and accessible location. This is no easy task, especially when adding geographic diversity into the mix of criteria. But we try to please most members most of the time with a variety of selections. Knowing in advance should help you — and the board — to plan.

The Poynter Institute recently provided guidance on joining journalism organizations. Poynter senior faculty member and JAWS member Jill Geisler shared the unique offerings of JAWS. “They network to beat the band. JAWdess Stephanie Woodard won the the Gannett/Richard LaCourse Award for Investigative Reporting for her series on Native American boarding school experiences. She also recently received two reporting grants to explore Native American children's health.

JAWS board member Jessica Alpert Silber gave birth to twins Theodore Wren and Nicola Jeanette on July 11.
