I believe that segregated knowledge leads to segregated life. This has become more apparent just days after our last presidential election. There is a general unrest in our country from all sides. Now, more than ever, our country begs for authentic Christianity that promotes common good, not self-interest, public witness not privatized Christianity, obedience to embodying Christlikeness, not imperial greatness, while still loving the flawed world God so loves. The Kingdom of God has no walls.
The state of our nation today has deepened our commitment to the work we do in ISAAC as urgent and critical responses to divided communities. We must continue working toward bringing about the diverse kingdom of God here on earth as it is in heaven. We must support one another as Asian American Christians by encouraging each other to contribute our gifts to the larger Christian church and society at large.
For these reasons, it is imperative that we act as a public witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ. ISAAC has been building bilateral bridges between African American and Asian American faith leaders and is positioned to expand our partnerships in multilateral bridge building. This has been our commitment as we have been organizing trilateral initiatives with Black and Hispanic churches since 2012.
Our latest movement forward is that the journal ChristianityNext replaces SANACS (Society of Asian North American Christian Studies). We are excited to publish the 2016 issue in December. ChristianityNext is an interdisciplinary journal creating new pathways for Asian North American Christianity.
This is a great task and we cannot do this alone. We are looking for church partnerships, contributing scholars and artists, and individuals committed to providing learning experiences in our segregated communities. Would you also please consider financially partnering with us to further ISAAC's mission in developing Asian American Christian leaders? Your contribution is a tax-deductible gift and an investment in raising spiritual leaders who break through the barriers in our increasingly divided world.
