Dear friends at A Gift of Art,

Hope you had a wonderful September! The Fall season has returned and along with it our art classes and workshops. We have a variety of art classes that you can take starting with Adult drawing and watercolour with Todd Tremeer and Encaustic with Linda Viro. Visit our website for the full list and more details!

In light of present circumstances, we are working on setting up online classes through Zoom so that you can learn art at the convenience and safety of your home. We will be delivering these classes in two formats: Interactive classes and recorded. Interactive classes will be streamed live through Zoom and will allow you to chat with the instructor depending on the class. Recorded classes on the other hand, as the name suggests, will be available for download. You can view these any time you like!

Health and safety of our participants, visitors, instructors and staff is our priority right now. We have strict procedures and standards that are maintained on site. For example, we have installed hand sanitizers, masks and gloves at the gallery and allow only 4 visitors at a time. Everyone’s temperature is taken and recorded along with some health questions. With careful consideration and by observing strict policies we are getting through these times. We also thank our wonderful volunteers … we are grateful for their efforts in supporting activities here at the gallery.
Classes that are taking place on-site have limited spots open because we safely distance our participants. So if you see a class or workshop on the list that you like … make sure you call in quickly to reserve your spot!
Internship opportunity at A Gift of Art
We are offering a 23 week internship.  The successful candidate will be energetic, dynamic, dedicated and organized individual who would like to secure a future in demanding marketing sector. Working with a team dedicated to promoting the arts and in particular local artists, while expanding the organizations footprint, will provide the opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience in the challenging world of art.

Hallowe’en is coming up so we have some contests lined up for you to win some fabulous prizes. First up we have a short story contest: Write us your original, spooky story in less than 1500 words and you could win $200. We are also running a Character Contest partnering up with RONA Newcastle Reno Centre. All you have to do is create your own Hallowe’en themed character in your front yard (make sure you use natural/recyclable materials!) and collect your registration number from us. The registration number is your formal entry. E-mail us or give us a call to know more.
Did you know that you can meet some of our artists by visiting their pages on our website? You can read about them, watch a video of them working on their art and browse through their works! Do have a look:
