This summer, exhibitors launched fun, nature-themed marketing campaigns for Into America's Wild, now booked in nearly 150 theaters
 
Calling all trailblazers! This summer saw a flood of travelers re-discover what it means to explore the world again. One way people got their travel fix was by experiencing Into America's Wild on the giant screen. Featuring more than 20 stunning natural landscapes across America, the film explores the hidden wonders of nature. As more theaters safely opened their doors this summer, they found audiences eager to embrace the film's back-to-nature storyline and trailblazing characters. Here's a look at marketing highlights from three theaters who pulled out all the stops with their nature-themed campaigns.    


Marbles Kids Museum Kicks Off Outdoor Programming
Marbles Kids Museum launched the film this June with a museum-wide educational and marketing program centered on exploring nature. Their Marbles Outdoor Adventure program promoted not only the film but a whole variety of nature-themed  exhibits and activities for kids, including pretend-rafting down roaring rapids, camping and kayaking in the Hit The Trail exhibit, art projects like nature rubbings and animal track stamps and a listening station where visitors guess the calls of nature. The museum's social media team did a great job promoting the campaign and even hosted a "Live Look In" tour of the museum to give viewers a preview of all the activities (we love the video, nice job, team!).
To kick off its outdoor campaign, Marbles hosted a Nature Day and partnered with local outdoor organizations for a day of nature fun. Visitors met animal ambassadors from Piedmont Wildlife Center, learned the basics of rock climbing with Triangle Rock Club, explored how nature makes you feel with South Wake Conservationists and discovered what it’s like to be a park ranger with North Carolina State Parks and Recreation.

The film's star, astronaut John Herrington, visited the museum in person to help promote the film. He spoke on the morning TV talk show My Carolina, then popped up on a Facebook Live interview and hosted a Q&A with K-5 campers. "John was amazing and the footage we got was great. All of Team Marbles was excited to meet him and he was a pleasure to work with," said Britt Thomas, VP of Community. "Definitely our most exciting IMAX day since reopening after the pandemic!!"

Kinosfera IMAX Creates EcoQuest Promotion in Local Park 
The Kinosfera IMAX Theater in Moscow decided to meet nature enthusiasts where they would most likely be - outside! They created an EcoQuest promotion in a popular local park that sees over 50,000 visitors each month. Visitors were invited to take photos of five specific plants and animals and share them on social media for a chance to win tickets to the film. The park and multiple local municipal districts cooperated to help spread the word. More than 200 people took part in the quest! 
An additional 80 commercial theaters across Russia also opened the film and together participated in a national social media influencer and text messaging campaign to promote the film to subscribers in 17 cities.

Tennessee Aquarium Drives Valuable Media Coverage  
The theme of connecting kids with nature is central to the Tennessee Aquarium's mission. To bring that connection to life, the Aquarium invited two of the film's stars, John Herrington and Jennifer Pharr Davis, to virtually share their stories with local TV stations and at other events. Jennifer spoke with the local NBC program "3 Plus Your Community" and recorded an interview with the Aquarium's VP of Conservation Science and Education, Dr. Anna George.   
 
John Herrington participated in a Facebook Live Q&A for both online fans and under-served students from Howard School who watched the film in the theater. "Into America's Wild is the right film at the right time," proclaimed Thom Benson, Chief Communications & Marketing Officer. "We're very fortunate to have this film to get people excited about exploring the beautiful places that are in our backyard and across this nation."

Film Talent Available
The dynamic characters in the film are excellent spokespeople for the movie and media outlets can't get enough of them during their interviews. Whether you are looking to create buzz leading up to your premiere or want to add a behind-the-scenes experience for your audiences, Native American astronaut John Herrington, Alaskan pilot Ariel Tweto, and record-breaking hiker Jennifer Pharr Davis are all incredible spokespeople and positive role models for students and adults alike.
