NEW SERVICE TIMES
CONNECT CLASSES

CONNECT classes are for anyone ready to step into the RiverValley family and are the best place to learn what our church believes. These classes are a casual family-friendly event. This is the last in the series of three classes. However, the series will be offered again in the fall, so keep your eyes peeled for that announcement. A light breakfast will be served, so an RSVP is requested. The RSVP needs to include the number of adults and children who will be attending.

Child Classes Offered

As we move into three services, here are the classes that will be offered for each service:

  • 8 a.m. - Infants through 3-year-olds
  • 9:30 a.m. - Infants through 2nd grade
  • 11 a.m. - Infants through 5th grade

We will be keeping to ratio in the classrooms (listed below). If you are unable to leave your child due to ratio, we do offer busy bags to check out, located at the Family First table.

Child to Volunteer Ratios

  • Infants, 3:1 (three infants can be left when one volunteer is present)
  • Tots and twos, 5:1
  • Three-year-olds, 5:1
  • Four and five-year-olds, 8:1
  • 1st and 2nd graders, 8:1
  • 3rd-5th graders, 10:1

Low child-to-staff ratios are critical to ensuring that children receive personalized attention, care, and supervision.

We encourage students in 6-12th grades to attend training to serve in our kids area. If your student has been through training, they may serve in the classrooms on Sunday morning. They may show up, and we will place them in a room; no notice needed.

There is a need for more volunteers. More volunteers = more care offered to more families.

With three services, there is plenty need and plenty opportunity to attend a service and serve during a service.

Steps to Volunteering

  1. Grab an application at the Family First desk or go to rvcoshkosh.com, find the Connect tab to the right, and scroll down to the Serve tab. This will direct you to our Serve page. Fill out needed information, and we will connect with you.
  2. Background check will be run (if you are volunteering with youth/children).
  3. "Get to know you" interview will be conducted.
  4. You are now able to serve.
