The elders have decided to stay the course on having three services throughout the summer. About 50 people came back when we went to three services, so we are going to keep this schedule for the summer. We anticipate that the numbers will stay strong, and we can always reevaluate if we have a major change.
Also, if you can attend the 8:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. services, that would help relieve the full service at 9:30 a.m. In case you're wondering, our average attendance in the Worship Center most Sundays is:
8:00 a.m. -- 110
9:30 a.m. -- 211
11:00 a.m. -- 160

On June 3-5, the elders will be away on a retreat. Since Covid, many things in our lives have changed. The elders will be getting away to pray and plan the next steps for RVC.

We invite you to pray for us:
  1. That the Holy Spirit will lead us in clarifying and vision for the next few years.
  2. That we will be drawn together as co-workers who bear and share the same vision.
  3. That God will show us how to care for the RVC flock and show us how to impact the Oshkosh area better.
The current active elders are:
  • Dave Barber
  • Wyatt Fisher
  • Caleb Ihrig
  • Jeremy Johnston
  • Stephen Marrano
  • Adam Patrick
  • Matt Wilson
  • Neil Wilson

RVC | kids

We are moving to in-person check-in for Sunday mornings beginning on Sunday, June 5.
This means that you will see Family First check-in volunteers upstairs and downstairs. You only need to stop at one, not both. They will ask for the needed information to get your kids checked in. We greatly appreciate your patience and grace as we work through this new process. Once the bugs are worked out, this new process will improve our recordkeeping and overall efficiency.

Once your children are checked in, we ask that you walk them to their classroom each week. Also, we would love for you to stop and introduce yourself to the Room Lead or Room Buddy assigned to that room. We have some amazing volunteers and there may be some new summer volunteers that are not familiar to your children.

RVC | Women

We are excited to be offering several summer studies for women!
  • Biblical Womanhood by Sarah Collins, begins Monday, June 13, and meets from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Email, Attn: Hannah Speers
  • Jesus and Women by Kristi McLelland, begins Wednesday, June 29, and meets from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Email, Attn: Mimi Leachman
  • Into the Light by Mary Demuth, a 7-week study begins Thursday, June 16, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Email, Attn: Tracy Fettner

A sabbatical is a biblical concept following the pattern in creation. For six days God worked, and on the seventh He rested. In the seventh year, they rested their fields. The sabbath rest, as Jesus said, was made for man. We practice sabbaticals for our ministry staff. After serving for six years, we give them a few weeks off to rest.

Danny Linse, our worship leader, will be on sabbatical this summer from June 19-August 21. Hannah (Anklam) Binder will be organizing and leading the worship ministry in his absence. Hannah and other volunteers will be leading us weekly while Danny is gone.

Please pray for Danny and his family to be rested mentally, physically, and spiritually while they are away. We have an awesome staff here at RVC, and we want to keep them refreshed.

We are grateful for the practice of sabbatical. We appreciate the rejuvenation and renewal that being away for a few weeks brings.

What's Better Than a Church Picnic?
Maybe Baptisms?
(And Plenty of Volunteers to Make It All Happen)

How about a church picnic WITH baptisms?

Yes, that's it! We are going to celebrate baptisms at our church picnic at Menominee Park shelter #1 on Sunday, July 10 at 10:00 a.m.!

Plan on joining us there for worship and celebration! If you are interested in being baptized, fill out the baptism application and we will be in touch with you.

If you're able to help on any of the teams, please write your name and team on the fellowship pad:

1) Set-up
2) Food serving
3) Grilling
4) Assisting with games
5) Clean-up

Please plan on bringing your own chairs for you and your family. We are asking everybody to bring a side dish to pass to ensure there will be plenty of food. You are welcome to also bring a dessert, if you'd like. Church will provide meat and drinks.

Feel free to email to sign up or with any questions.
