Hello, it's great to be able to talk games with you again!
In this month's Life and Times of a Board Game we muse about the art of box cover design. We discuss the topic on our podcast, and in this newsletter we let the pictures speak for us. We also add a new regular feature to the newsletter which lists the current "life stage" of our upcoming games. And as always, be sure to check out our creative competition, this month to win a copy of Black Orchestra!
The Life and Times Podcast
As always, the monthly newsletter is accompanied by a podcast, hosted by Michael Fox (Little Metal Dog Show, Myriad Games) and Dann May (Game Salute - Chief Creative Officer). The podcast features a short discussion about a stage in the life and times of a board game, news on upcoming releases, and creative competitions.

The Art of the Game Box Cover
On this month's podcast, Michael and Dann spent some time chatting about box art, and exploring just a few of the many inspirations and choices that might go into a box design. To accompany that conversation, here is a gallery of some of our box covers, including those that came up in the conversation. Those covers mentioned in our conversation that are by other publishers can be found on boardgamegeek.com.
Every month we give away a board game (or more) by posing you a fun little creative activity or question...
The winner of last month's contest was Christine Günther!
The prize for October's contest is a copy of Black Orchestra by Philip duBarry.
Choose a historical event that would make a good game. But, the twist is... if another entrant chooses the same event, then your entry will be disqualified! So the challenge is propose an idea that could be fun, but is unique enough that there is a good chance no-one else will choose it. :)
We'll select our favourite unique entry as a winner.
Entries will close on October 28th, 2016.
