Buggy Bootcamp - The arrival of our mascot and the Mother's Day Classic!
Hello Buggy Bootcampers – and welcome to all of our new members, 14 of you signed up in February and have been awesome additions to the bootcamps. Keep it up!

Obviously our biggest news since the last newsletter is the arrival of Sarah and Dave’s gorgeous baby boy Cameron. He made his appearance a couple of days early at 4.21pm on 23rd Feb weighing 3.5kg. Everyone is doing well, Cameron is a complete cutie and Mum is looking amazing! Congratulations guys. (Please note the team shirt in the pics below!)

Sarah is now taking a little break from Buggy Bootcamp but is already counting down the days until she can get exercising with us. I for one can’t wait to make Sarah burpee, high knee and push up!

This month we have a great quick and easy recipe for you and the Buggy Bootcamp team registrations have opened for the Mother’s Day Classic – an awesome event that I hope a lot of you will run with us. Have a little look at our video blog too for Sarah’s top tips for running and register your interest for our Saturday morning running group.

And admin wise, remember:

… that you can now train up to 4 times a week with Buggy Bootcamp with the new Tuesday session. A big shout out goes to Karen Pridgeon who was the first Bootcamper to manage the treble and who also has my bet for the first to do 4 in a row. There will be a prize awarded for the first member that manages the quadruple, so get bootcamping ladies!

… to let me know if you are coming to the social at 7.30pm in Manly Wine on Tuesday 12th March via the Facebook event page.

Thanks all

Let’s Get Moving

Mother's Day Classic Registrations - Go Team Buggy Bootcamp!

Buggy Bootcamp will be entering a team into the Mother’s Day Classic, a 4km or 8km fun run (or walk!) around Sydney Domain on Sunday 12th May.

What better way to spend Mother’s Day than doing something for yourself, getting outdoors and active and perhaps running further than you have before (or at least post bub!). A fun run is also the perfect way to inspire you to keep up your training and give yourself a goal to work towards.

Or bring the whole family along (including the buggy!) and complete the course together for a great day out.

Register online here and pick ‘Buggy Bootcamp’ from the team list. Early bird entries finish 10th April.

Need to do some more running training outside of Bootcamp?

If 5 or more people are interested, we will also run a Saturday morning (buggy free) running session in the lead up to the event. Find the details here and register your interest asap by emailing Carly.

Protein Ball Recipe

330 g raw whole almonds
60g vanilla protein powder
16 fresh dates, pitted
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 tablespoon natural vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
coconut for rolling
These delicious snacks are a great source of complete protein that also contain essential amino acids and Vitamin E (from the almonds and fresh dates). The cinnamon adds a lovely flavour as well as stabilising blood sugar levels.

Throw the almonds into the food processor with the cinnamon, protein powder and cocoa and then process until the mix looks crumbly. Add dates and vanilla extract and then process again until the mix starts to come together.  Add a splash of water if you need to so that mixture is soft and can be formed into a ball.

Divide into 14 decent sized balls. Roll in coconut and store in the fridge until you feel like a snack!

Store in the fridge for up to 4 weeks ( I guarantee that you will have eaten them before then though!).
More Buggy Bootcamps!

Bootcamps are now held at 9.30am every Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs.

The new Tuesday session is held at North Steyne (just on the grass by the surf club). Make sure you come on down for your Tuesday fix of burpees if you want the session to remain on the timetable throughout the winter!

End of Summer Social

Put 7.30pm Tuesday 12th March in the diary now ladies!

Leave bub at home and come along to Manly wine for dinner and drinks with the other Buggy Bootcampers. You never know, I might even manage to change out of my sports gear!
RSVP by joining the Facebook event or by sending me a quick email.
