Celebrating multicultural Queensland

The Celebrating Multicultural Queensland (CMQ) program is an annual program that provides funding towards multicultural events and projects that engage people from culturally diverse backgrounds. 

The program celebrates people who arrived in Australia as migrants or refugees, people seeking asylum, members of diverse cultural groups and the wider community, to contribute to building an inclusive, harmonious and united Queensland.

Grants of up to $20,000 are available during the first grant round - open now until 29 June 2019.

Funding: Get Online Week 2019 grants available

Good Things Foundation’s international digital inclusion campaign Get Online Week is coming back on 14-20 October 2019. Get Online Week aims to support thousands of people who have limited digital skills to make the most of the internet.

Community organisations are eligible to apply for a $1,500 grant to support their Get Online Week events and spread the message that gaining digital skills can improve people's lives. Applications close 5 July 2019.


Resource: Workforce Planning Connect

Workforce Planning Connect is a suite of user-friendly resources designed to support small and medium-sized businesses to undertake workforce planning, regardless of their knowledge or experience.

Workforce planning involves planning for the people who will help your business deliver its products and services to your customers. These strategies and actions can include training and development, recruitment and improving workforce performance.

Blog: Ideas on how you could celebrate NAIDOC Week 2019

NAIDOC Week is held every year in July (7-14) to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year's theme is 'Voice. Treaty. Truth.' the three key elements to the reforms set out in the Uluru Statement from the Heart.

Scholarships: 2019 Young Leaders Forum

With the aim of empowering the next generation of not-for-profit leaders, the Australian Scholarships Foundation has joined forces with McKinsey & Company to offer scholarships to McKinsey Academy’s Young Leaders Forum this year.

There are multiple scholarships available to staff of charitable not-for-profit organisations. Each scholarship is valued at $4,000 and grants recipients full access to the Young Leaders Forum workshop and program.

NDIS Commission Provider Information pack

An information pack is now available to support NDIS providers with understanding the requirements of the quality and safety framework covered by the federal NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission) from 1 July.

The pack lays out the NDIS Code of Conduct, your responsibilities as a registered or un-registered NDIS service provider for you and your workers, as well as the benefits, obligations and types of screening that will need to take place.
