Kiplagat Improves Her Half Marathon World Record

On 15 February, in the eDreams Mitja Marato de Barcelona, Florence Kiplagat surpassed the world record she set in the same race the previous year by running 1:05:09.

AIMS World Record Award

Dennis Kimetto received the AIMS World Record Award on in Ras Al Khaimah on 12 February 2015 in recognition of his World Record breaking time of 2:02:57 set in the BMW Berlin Marathon on 28 September 2014.
His performance, ratified in December 2014, was given global recognition during a presentation at the race hotel of the Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Half Marathon. The presentation was made jointly by AIMS General Secretary Hugh Jones and Race Director of the RAK Half Marathon and AIMS Continental PR Manager for Asia Nathan Clayton.

AIMS Asia-Pacific Conference, 12-13 June 2015
AIMS will be holding their inaugural AIMS Asia-Pacific Conference from 12-13 June 2015 at the Olive Tree Hotel in Penang, Malaysia. Hosted by the Penang Bridge Half Marathon, this is the first such conference ever staged in Asia and Oceania.
The conference will feature speakers and experts on distance running, with the purpose of providing insights and networking opportunities to race directors and distance running enthusiasts within the region, enabling them to connect with the global running movement.  The keynote speaker will be Carlo Capalbo from the Prague International Marathon (PIM), who will talk about the PIM Running Centre and the IAAF Label scheme.
