Fish 2.0 Finals being held next week

21 of the 39 businesses that advanced into Phase 3 of the competition were selected by our investor judges to present pitches to an audience of impact and traditional investors, seafood experts, and foundations at the Fish 2.0 Competition Finals being held at Stanford University on November 12 and 13.  

Ten of the businesses were selected as finalists, and will be presenting 10 minute pitches and competing for prizes of $40,000, $25,000 and $10,000. Another 11 of the businesses were selected as semi-finalists and will compete for a 90-second short pitch prize of $2,500.  


Pitch coaching offered to Fish 2.0 competitors

In the last phase, we have offered each business several sessions of one-on-one advisory time with professional pitch coaches.  Ashley Simons of Simons Communications and Strategy and Nathan Gold of The Demo Coach have been working for the past month with the participants to improve their pitches.  Ashley brings many years of experience in the seafood and business sectors to her communications work, and Nathan brings significant experience coaching entrepreneurs to pitch to venture capitalists.  He was recently profiled in the Wall Street Journal for his work.


Fish 2.0 Finals agenda and speakers announced

We are pleased to announce that several prominent and experienced impact investors will be joining us for panels and discussions at the upcoming Fish 2.0 finals.  Julia Sze of Sonen Capital will be opening the event with a talk on the Power of Collaborative Impact Investing.  

Other speakers joining us include leaders from Santa Clara University and the Global Social Business Incubator, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Mission Point Capital, Treetops Capital, KL Felicitas, Toniic, Social-Impact International, Hawaii Investment Ready Program, Aqua Spark, RSF Social Finance, SJF Ventures and Oceanis Partners.
