2019 Fish 2.0 entries are the most innovative yet
We've been working with a new wave of businesses to Fish 2.0, and they’re the most mature and innovative yet. They’re bringing a raft of technologies to market—for marine and land-based aquaculture, sustainable fishing, traceability and transparency, and climate resilience. They’re also tackling supply chain, waste reduction, and packaging challenges. It bodes well for improved ocean health and seafood markets, and for an opportunity-rich Global Innovators Forum this fall (see below).
A few key indicators from our 2018–19 Fish 2.0 cycle thus far:
- We’ve worked with almost 200 sustainable seafood ventures from 33 countries.
- We received 150 applications to Fish 2.0 and 90 percent were eligible.
- Over 100 ventures have successfully completed Part 1 of the online Readiness Assessment—we’re eager to get a look at their Part 2 submissions.
- Over half of the ventures are working on innovations related to aquaculture.
