Perhaps the largest legal, social, and economic issue in the workplace is the use of drugs and alcohol. The reality for employers is that drug and alcohol use can affect employees’ health and productivity and may impact safety in the workplace. While employers are taking helpful steps towards creating a safer and more productive workplace, many may have made some common missteps in the development and management of their drug testing program.
