The Tsoknyi Gechak Ling Capital Campaign

Hello Friends of Tsoknyi Rinpoche,

Throughout the world, 2015 has been a challenging year, full of environmental and political upheaval. Nepal was no exception. The earthquakes in April and May devastated the country followed by the Nepali government passing a new controversial constitution, which resulted in a nation-wide fuel embargo that continues to this day.

In the midst of this adversity, however, Tsoknyi Gechak Ling continues to serve as a beacon of goodness and hope. Despite the obstacles, the girls’ education at the Primary School is thriving and the Shedra nuns are progressing nicely with their studies. In February, a group of nuns in the Tsoknyi lineage will come out of three-year retreat and move into the newly finished Pema Chödrön Drubde for a six-month Dzogchen retreat. The determination and resilience of the nuns, young and old, is truly inspirational.

From the beginning, Tsoknyi Rinpoche has exuded a profound sense of calm and confidence that this project would succeed and be completed by Losar 2018. His example of unwavering love and commitment inspires this newsletter.

As 2015 comes to a close, we once again ask for your support to help complete construction of the very special Buddhist nunnery known as Tsoknyi Gechak Ling.
