This Tuesday's Generosity Idea
May is mental health awareness month. For this week’s #GivingEveryTuesday, let’s contribute to the mental health of ourselves, our friends and neighbors, and even people we don’t know. Ideas:
- Open up about your experience. Hearing another person go through a similar experience can be healing and reaffirming. And, it can be the nudge a person needs to get help and look into treatment.
- Follow accounts the destigmatize mental health
- Educate yourself about mental health services (or lack thereof) in your community for communities most in need. Support those efforts or take action to make sure the most marginalized in our community get the services they need to thrive.
- Volunteer with your local mental health organizations, crisis hotlines, and youth organizations
- Spend some time giving back to yourself this week. You can't pour from an empty cup.
