What's going on in the Diocese

  • Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has asked us to unite in lifting our voices towards Heaven by praying the Our Father at noon this Wednesday, March 25th, the Feast of the Annunciation, "On that day on which many Christians recall the annunciation to the Virgin Mary of the Incarnation of the Word, may the Lord listen to the united prayer of all of His disciples who are preparing themselves to celebrate the victory of the Risen Christ."
  • Governor Whitmer has signed a "Stay Home, Stay Safe" order, stating that all Michigan residents are to stay home other than for reasons needed to sustain or protect life effective tomorrow, March 24 at 12:01 a.m. through Monday, April 13. Read the order here
  • In light of the Govenor's order, details regarding Holy Week celebrations will be forthcoming.
  • In case you missed it, Bishop Bradley released a letter to the faithful announcing the heart-wrenching decision to temporarily suspend all public Masses. Bishop Bradley writes, "In the turbulence of the current "life storm" we are experiencing, may we all continue to be People of deep Faith, persevering Hope and generous Love as we stay faithful to our relationship with Jesus and His Church." Amen.
  • Bishop Bradley offers hope and encouragement in this video to the faithful of the diocese.
  • Check out our Sunday Experience page for ways to continue your faithful devotions during these times of social distancing while we care for and pray for those who are sick, alone and suffering during these times.

SPOTLIGHT:
Prayers for Parishioners

Fr. Paul Redmond of St. Thomas More Student Parish, Kalamazoo asked his parishioners to send him pictures so he could remember them at Mass. While it is devastating that we cannot attend Mass right now, it is should bring hope and joy knowing that our priests will be celebrating Mass everyday, praying for all those suffering from Covid-10 and remembering us and our intentions during their private Masses.
Keeping Holy the Sabbath

One parishioner shared this sweet photo of his daughter participating in Mass this past Sunday. We would love to see more photos of the creative ways your family is keeping Holy the Sabbath. Share your photos with us at officeofcommunications@diokzoo.org.
