I supposed you've heard: Mark Zuckerberg is going to crack down on "fake news" sites!
I guess that means ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN will have a hard time getting linked to on Facebook anymore?
Yet isn't that where the fake news that really matters has come from?
The fake news sites -- ABC, CBS, etc. -- all repeated the "WMDs in Iraq" whopper that got a ton of people killed. Or the Niger yellowcake whopper. Or all kinds of other Iraq lies.
Heck, Judith Miller of the New York Times lied her way through the entire run-up to the war.
Or how about the Pat Tillman story? Or Jessica Lynch? Or the Duke lacrosse team? Or Michael Brown and "Hands up; don't shoot"? Or the babies in the Iraqi incubators? Those are a few to get you started.
Meanwhile, the Ron Paul Liberty Report published a fake news list, driving home a similar point. It got picked up by Drudge.
I do my best every weekday on the Tom Woods Show to overturn the fake news.
But as a historian, I'm also committed to overturning fake history.
As F.A. Hayek said, if we get our history wrong, we'll get current policy wrong.
This Black Friday weekend I'll be having the biggest sale of the year on my Liberty Classroom, where you can get -- at your convenience and on the go -- history and economics the way they should have been taught to you.
Professors? Try Bob Murphy, Kevin Gutzman, Brion McClanahan, Brad Birzer, and me, for starters.
Between now and then, and over the weekend, I'll be sending you a lot of infotaining emails about it.
If that's too much for you, or if hitting "delete" is too annoying, go ahead and unsubscribe from my list using the link at the bottom of this email.
If not, I'll do my best to keep you entertained -- quite a few times -- this weekend.
And seriously, grab this deal. Here's what you need to prevail in the debates you'll find yourself in more and more.
I'll help you unlearn the propaganda, and replace it with delicious truth.
This is how we win....
