NAMI High Country was very busy on Saturday, April 23!  We were a part of two events.  One was the Out of the Darkness Campus walk, which was helped planned by Board Member Laura Anne Middlesteadt.  The other one was the Appalachian Rollergirls boat which gave proceeds to NAMI High Country which was organized by Board Member Genevieve Austin.  Please see pics below!

Expressive Arts

Heather Thorp is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Expressive Arts Therapist. Heather provides supervision for other expressive arts therapists to become REATs. She is interested in writing, ritual, collage, connecting creativity and spirituality, and community building. She can be reached at

Expressive arts for self care and  community building.  Participants will receive information about expressive arts and participate in a multimodal experiential exercise. No previous art experience necessary.

Our meetings are in the Watauga County Public Library conference room.  Watauga County Public Library in downtown Boone is located at 140 Queen Street, behind Mast General Store.  If you get there before 7pm you will be able to go in the main door.  After that we will enter and exit through the side door.
