Greetings Camp Friends

You know Bob and you may or may not know about Bethany Birches. Bob and his family lived in Vermont for years and spent hours and dollars helping the camp get started.  In fact, you can see Robert Weaver's signature on the founding document of the camp.  That's right, Bob and his family helped to found the camp.

That was 1970.  Fast forward to 2017 and Bob is still investing in the camp.  This time through walking.  You can learn more about this project on the camp's website right here

On that webpage we are keeping a current log of Bob's progress.  To date, he has walked 123 miles.  He hopes to walk 400 miles by July, 2017.  He hopes that through his walking he can raise awareness of the camp and the work it does.  He also hopes that through that awareness people will be generous to the camp, especially to help finish Mission Possible: The Pavilion Project.

You can learn a lot about the project by watching the campaign video.  Read this blog post to learn where the project is at to date.

Right now, we owe $100,000 to a lender.  When that is paid, there will be no loan on the building.  The lender said that if we can pay the loan back this year he will not charge any interest at all.  Bob's goal is to raise a quarter of the loan repayment needed ($25,000).  Will you help him meet this goal and help the camp move on to focusing resources back on the kiddos?

Brandon "Tuna" Bergey
Executive Director

p.s. why a quarter of the loan amount?  This walk seems to be lending itself to 4's.  It's 400 miles from Lancaster, PA (where Bob lives) to Bethany Birches in Plymouth, VT.  It's been 40 years since Bob and Anna Mae's 4 children were campers here at BBC.  So we thought a quarter of the total would be a fitting goal (maybe we should have gone with 4 times the total as a goal instead)!

Bob's 400 mile walk if he did it straight from Lancaster, PA
to Plymouth, VT.  Here's a map showing where he would have traveled in his first 100 miles:
