Advocacy, education and support for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, their family and friends.

This is an important week for our nation, as on January 20th a new administration will take office. Given the events of January 6th, and ongoing, we urge all of our members and supporters to be cautious in the days ahead, especially those in or around state capitals, including in our nation's capital. As always, PFLAG is here for you. Don't hesitate to reach out, any time you need us.

Now, here are some very special ways to stay connected with all of this week's Inaugural events, as well as a great deep dive in our Education section on working with data in support of our shared work!

A Special Inauguration Event!

We're proud to join our friends at the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and several of our fellow LGBTQ+ community partners as we come together as a nation for the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. On Wednesday, January 20th at 7pm ET/4pm PT, help us commemorate the road ahead for the LGBTQ+ community at this special online inaugural event, which will be available on HRC’s social media channels (FacebookTwitter and YouTube).

We look forward to celebrating with you!

The Power of Equality: Inaugural Event

Join together, virtually, to honor lives taken by COVID

Tomorrow, Tuesday January 19th, at 5:30pm ET/2:30pm PT, the Presidential Inaugural Committee is hosting a memorial to remember and honor lives lost to COVID-19. A Washington, D.C. ceremony will feature a lighting around the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool; it will be the first-ever lighting around the Reflecting Pool to memorialize American lives lost. Cities and towns across the country will also participate by lighting up buildings--also in amber, to match the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool--as well as with ringing town and church bells.

As a show of support for the families of those who've lost loved ones, we invite PFLAGers across the country to join in this countrywide moment of remembrance by lighting a candle in your window. You might also consider joining in a PFLAG Connects meeting to be together in virtual space and support one another for this important memorial.
