             NEWSLETTER & SCHEDULE

Dear Friends:

One of the nicest things I see happening at Mezzrow now is a "regular" crowd developing.  You know a business is getting healthy when you start having repeat customers.  At Mezzrow certain people just fit in naturally and then it becomes their home.  Early on, Mezzrow's nature as a listening room revealed itself, as people came not to chat but to listen.  This raised the game considerably for, not just myself, but all of the aritsts that play at Mezzrow.  I've spoken with other pianists about it, how our own individual levels as jazz artists has been elevated by the opportunity to perform in front of an attentively listening crowd.  It puts you on another level.   Mezzrow is not a "piano bar" but rather, a modern day Salon for intimate acoustic jazz concerts.

I have the luxury of a solo show each Thursday and I've begun to make friends with the "regulars" - who all seem to be interesting and beautiful people.  It's become so fun to show up at my gig and be greeted by so many new and sympathetic friends!  It's a beautiful thing to see a community evolve and around the same "principals", which is basically enjoying some great jazz music.  I've even had some compliments on my newsletters....

I always urge folks to become a subscribing member of SmallsLIVE.  It gives you unlimited access to our audio/video archive of past shows.  Subscription fees directly support the musicians through our revenue share program and supports the clubs.  CLICK HERE for information.

Looking forward to seeing you at the clubs,

Regards,

Spike
