Hello friends,

These past weeks I've been doing some thinking about how the creative arts and sciences are linked to the rest of our lives: science, philosophy, religion, you name it. I think the journeys of artists and scientists are, at their foundation, the same; we just often take different paths. Really what we're trying to get at is what life means for each of us.

When you're painting (if you're having a good painting day!), everything comes together. For me, painting brings moments when the mysteries of life make sense. If you, like me, are curious and excited about our experience of the world around us, painting - like the quest of science - is a way to find answers, to quench a thirst for knowledge of the world and self-knowledge. I invite you to find a taste of this magic and explore your own inner and outer world through the experience of painting this fall, whether through classes or by attending a workshop.
