19 July 2020, Sixth Sunday after Trinity

Do read below for information about our forthcoming Confirmation Course and about an amazing and immediate answer to prayer

9am Holy Communion (without music)
Full order of service
11am Morning Worship (which will be live streamed)
Full order of service

People are required to wear masks and keep social distance. If you visit the book shop, please wear gloves.

The Chaplain will be leaving after the 9am service, to conduct the afternoon service in St Petersburg

St Andrew's Sunday school at home

Parents may use the creche area, but they must supervise their children. There will be no Sunday school group, but each week we will provide material which families might like to use - either in church (sheets will be available) or at home. With thanks to Rachel Culbertson and Alison Rogers

Remember brothers Esau and Jacob from last week? Well tricksy Jacob finally meets someone whom he can’t fool. Read this amazing story that follows the family of God’s chosen people. It’s clear that even though they can be tricky, God still loves them and chooses to be with them.

Monday 20 July

Tuesday 21 July
7:30 pm Zoom bible study
We are currently reading through the book of Revelation
If you would like to join us, it would be helpful if you are able to read Revelation 14-16 (the woman, dragon and the beast) before the meeting.

Wednesday 22 July
7:30 pm Holy Communion, followed by a reflective Bible study and the Jesus Prayer

Sunday 26 July
9:00 am Holy Communion
11:00 am Holy Communion (with music)

This is Josh's last Sunday with us, before the family leave Moscow.

We live stream morning prayer Monday to Friday at 8:30am and on Saturday at 9am.
We live stream on our facebook page (moscowanglican) or on the home page of our website.

The text of morning and evening prayer can be found by clicking here
or by downloading the app: Daily Prayer.

We start our next confirmation group on September 20th. It will meet after the 11am service (although some sessions may be by zoom).
If you are interested in finding out more about the Christian faith, about Anglicanism, and how to find faith and to grow in your faith, then this is for you.
We do not know when our next service of confirmation will be. That depends on when we are able to have a Bishop come and visit

Last week I wrote that although the City have said that they will fund the facade and roof work, we need to find a further $150k to fund the waterproofing works. I had no idea how we were going to do this, particularly given the current situation, and I asked you to pray.
Thank you to those who did pray!
On Friday we were told, almost in passing, that the waterproofing works were part of the architect's plans for the restoration of the facade and roof, which have been accepted by the Department for Culture and Heritage, and will also be paid for by the City. So it looks as if we do not need to raise that money.

We do thank God for His provision for us at each step of the restoration journey and, whatever may come of this, we thank Him for the encouragement.
If you are already on the rota for welcoming, reading or leading intercessions, the sign up sheet is now available here.
We need people to welcome, do the tech stuff, read one of the lessons and lead the intercessions at both the 9am and 11am service.
if you are currently not on the rotas, and would like to be on the rota, please email Giles

THANK YOU very much to those who have given via yandex or in other ways.

At the moment we have no income coming in from concerts or events, and are dependent for everything on your donations. You can give on Sundays, or via the chaplain, or direct at

If you are based overseas and would like to support our work, please visit
If you would like to give through Yandex on our website, you will need to fill in the form on the first page, stating how much you would like to give, your phone number, name (if you wish), citizenship, email address, and then say what you would like the donation to be used for. Please do write in English or Russian that it is a Donation and that VAT does not apply. You can copy and paste the Russian words in quotation marks if you wish.
The only boxes that you need to fill in are the amount you would like to give, your telephone number, and we would ask you to state that this is a donation and that VAT does not apply.
You then press the last button and will be taken to the Yandex payment page.
This is what the Yandex payment page looks like. In this example, the donor has said above that they would like to give 1000 roubles. You can either pay by bank card, yandex money or even via Sperbank telephone.

Please note that Yandex take a commission of 2.8%, so if you are giving a large sum, do get in touch with us to see if there are other ways of donating.

The special prayer for this week:
Creator God,
You made us all in your image:
may we discern You in all that we see,
and serve You in all that we do;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
- Pray for MPC (Moscow Protestant Chaplaincy) as they begin meeting on Sunday. Particularly pray for Pastor Jessica, that she will be able to get to Russia soon, and for those supporting MPC during this time.
- Pray for Josh and Nina as they make preparations for leaving Russia in two weeks time.
- Pray for those taking their ЕГЭ (Russian school leaving exams), and those who support them.
- Continue to pray for those in need and for those who grieve. We have been asked to pray particularly for Galina and Michael, Sophia
Andrea Bocelli singing Amazing Grace for Easter Sunday. We continue to pray for those countries where COVID is causing devastation, against a 'second wave' here in Russia (and our home countries), and for those working on vaccines. Pray too that God will open our eyes, so that in the continuing crisis we will see Him and know His love.
