CSI Skill Tree: In Other Waters

A series on video games, storytelling, worldbuilding, and the future
Watch on YouTube
Our CSI Skill Tree series examines and celebrates how video games envision possible futures, build rich and thought-provoking worlds, and engage people as active participants in unfolding and interpreting stories.

In our latest episode, we take a close look at In Other Waters, a 2020 adventure game about searching for a lost scientist in the oceans of an alien planet, and unraveling the xenobiological mysteries of the planet’s aquatic ecosystems.

Our guests are Lisa Yin Han, an expert on environmental and oceanic media and assistant professor of film and media studies at Arizona State University, and Hilairy Hartnett, an oceanographer and professor in ASU’s Schools of Earth and Space Exploration and Molecular Sciences.
