Flood Response!

Thank you, Walla Walla University for going over and beyond. In the last couple of days, we have been involved in making sandbags, diverting rivers, inventorying supplies, cooking meals, and many stories are still emerging (for photos click here). Many of you have been asking what else can we do? Well you can register here as a Flood Response Volunteer.

Please consider joining the University Church family in a time of prayer and discovery of how you can be involved. We invite you to join at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, Feb. 12 in the sanctuary. All are welcome.

Another immediate need is to help our Walla Walla County Emergency Management Department staff a call center that would be the hub for individual/public needs assessment of the damage in our community.

We are also coordinating a couple of mudslinging parties on Friday and Sunday to help individuals get back into there homes. We understand that many of you will be traveling, but service doesn't stop here. Find a way to serve wherever you're going (or staying!), take a video on your story, and tag @che.wwu Instagram.

As I reflect over the last couple of days I'm thrilled to live in a community where service happened naturally. Jesus called us to love our community and the more we serve the more we can love.

Thank you to ASWWU Spiritual who lead out at Wheatland Village to host the Jazz Party for the residents. And thank you all who have been helping with the flood relief.

Many Blessings,
E. David Lopez

P.S. When you are looking for ways to connect with our community I hope you contact us.
