CS UBUNTU DIES WEEK
CS Ubuntu is turning 9 on the 9th of June and to celebrate the birthday of our lovely association, we have planned some fun activities! This celebratory week also involves the General Assembly in which the candidate board will be voted in, so don't miss out on all these celebrations!
3 June
Dies Week: Board room borrel
We will be kicking-off the Dies week with a casual chill-session at the board room with some drinks and snacks!
4 June
Dies Week: Symposium "From Polarisation to Radicalisation"
There is no doubt that radicalisation and polarisation are pressing issues in today’s society, with this in mind Ubuntu have decided to take a look at what can be done to help tackle these problems.
This symposium, spokespeople from RadarAdvies, TerInfo and Dare to be Grey will shed their light on radicalisation and polarisation in society.
RadarAdvies is an social impact think thank that works together with European Radicalisation Awareness to prevent radicalisation.
TerInfo helps teachers in primary and secondary schools confronted with terrorist incidents that cause fear, anger or tension amongst students.
Dare to be Grey is an organisation which 'goes against the polarisation of society by promoting an open debate with room for nuanced opinions, doubt and diversity.’ They hope to give a different voice in the midst of the fierce ‘black and white’ debate we see today.

1 May: Monthly Drinks
This month's monthly drinks was an especially fun one! We swapped stories of the Big Study Trip and other holiday adventures!
13 May: A Talk On Community Development Through Skateboarding
On the 13th of May, we invited Tim van Asdock to speak about his ngo ‘Concrete Jungle Foundation’. Through a project that involved the skateboard-community, they helped neighbourhoods all over the world. Tim managed to inspire the whole room and fill all of our heads with big dreams!
15 May: Candidate Board Revelation Drinks
Many members and friends were present to witness the revelation of the candidate board for the upcomping year. On this lovely and casual evening, we revealed that we have chosen Azalea, Wouter, Miriam, Liam and Mouad for the candidate board. After the necessary photoshoot session, we had a lovely night. We are super excited to vote for this board on the General Assembly on the 5th of June.
See our instagram page for an introducation of all candidate board members.
