23-24 May

The annual Conflict Academy is back!

On the 24th of May you will be an actor in a simulation of a real conflict situation. As an actor you will represent a party involved in the conflict situation and you will try to reach your goals by using your specific resources and capabilities. The actors will negotiate with other actors and make important decisions concerning the future of a country which has yet to be revealed.

The evening before, on the 23rd of May, the actors will take part in an interesting workshop which will prepare them for the negotiations the next day.

The Conflict Academy will not only be a special experience but also a very useful one for everyone who's interested in politics, conflict and negotiations!

More information will follow soon!

Recap of Last Month's Events

3 April: Monthly Drinks

This month's monthly drinks were cosy and a little crazy and as always it was lovely seeing everyone's face again!

12-19 April: Big Study Trip Morocco

The annual Big Study Trip to Morocco started in Tangier, where we enjoyed the hostel's rooftop breakfast in the sun and explored the medina during the day. We visited the American Legation Centre and learned more about the city's kasbah on the walking tour. We also enjoyed some time on the beach, and some of us were even brave enough to dip themselves in the sea!

We took the highspeed train to Rabat, where we took surfing lessons on the first day. We visited the Dutch Embassy and the EU Delegation on learned about Dutch and European ties with Morocco.

On a day trip to Fes we indulged ourselves in the world of spices and roamed the small streets in the Medina, getting lost and learning about the local tannery business.

All in all we had a lovely week and grew only a tiny bit fat on all the delicious food!

25 April: Pub Quiz

For this months activity we organized a pub quiz that was quite a success with many people competing for the final pitchers of beer, the glory going to the team that got the most points in a quiz concerning the topics of fun facts, Dutch facts and conflict and human rights knowledge.
