Lecture on Syria 28/11

On the 28th of November, the Activity Committee organizes a special evening on Syria. As the bloodshed in Syria continues to spread, the international community is calling for an end to the presidency of Bashar al-Assad. Does the opinion of the international community reflect the will of the Syrian people? Who really are the “Free Syrian Army”? What does the conflict mean for the Syrian People and what awaits the Syrian people in the future? To answer these questions and many more we have invited Maarten Zeegers to explain the history of Syria, the development of the uprising and the current situation in Syria. Furthermore Kawa Rashid will also join the lecture to share his personal experiences of living in Syria as a journalist during the start of the uprising. After the lecture there is room for a debate, followed by some drinks and further discussion at Hofman.
Checkpoint Cinema 19/11
