August Newsletter

The photo above was taken at Makalu Base Camp in Nepal on our 2011 Makalu to Everest GHT expedition. We are excited to be organising this trip again in October. There is no doubt this is the most difficult commercially available trek in the Himalaya. This route travels from Makalu Base Camp to Everest region crossing three high, technical mountain passes: Sherpani Pass (6,135m), West Col (6,143m) and Amphu Laptsa (5,850m). To find out how we got along on our 2011 Makalu to Everest GHT expedition please read our Trip Reports.

John Eames will lead Makalu to Everest GHT in October and there is availability in this group if you are interested. Please note mountaineering and previous high altitude experience is required for this trip. If you would like to join this group then the next step is to send in your pre trip application for Makalu to Everest GHT and I will provide feedback on your suitability.

Autumn/ Fall season in Nepal and Bhutan is fast approaching with our Lunana Snowman trek arriving to Paro in just over one month's time. From late September through to late December we are organising a wide range of treks with both Western and Local leaders ------> Click here for the full list of guaranteed and nearly guaranteed treks in 2016 and 2017

As mentioned in our July newsletter The Mountain Company has been nominated for the Best Escorted Adventure Holiday Company category in the 2016 British Travel Awards. If you have not already done so we would be very grateful if you could vote for us. Many thanks in advance!

Please get in contact if you have any questions or require further information about any of our trips to the Himalayas and Karakoram. I am in London until September 17th when I fly out Kathmandu for our Autumn season. If you are joining one of our treks in Nepal in October or November I look forward to seeing you in Kathmandu!

Trek on!
