Montrose Parkway East

On Thursday, July 23rd, at 6pm in the Executive Office Building, Montgomery County and state transportation officials will present plans for the proposed Montrose Parkway East located between Rockville Pike and Parklawn Drive.  The new four-lane divided highway would essentially run parallel to Randolph Road and bridge Nebel Street and the CSX railroad tracks.

Officials say it is needed to alleviate heavy traffic though others are worried it could cut off access to a more walkable Pike District. Friends of White Flint wants to know what you think about this project.  Please email your comments to info@whiteflint.org.

White Flint Sector Plan Monitoring Report from the
White Flint Implementation Committee

The White Flint/Great Seneca/Shady Grove Monitoring report is going to the Planning Board today.  The report is a fabulous summary of all that's being planned right now for the Pike District and also includes recommendations for future projects.

Okay, okay. We admit it's not the most exciting prose ever written about MoCo but it does concern the most exciting project ever built in MoCo, so fill your cup with coffee, click here, read, and learn.

We can't yet divulge the details (although we promise to do just that on Monday, so check your email in the morning) but we will be kicking off our #PickthePike campaign with an exciting event 8:30 am on Wednesday, July 22nd.  Stay tuned ....
