Here's the Working/Staff Draft of the White Flint 2 Plan, and It's Being Presented to the Planning Board This Afternoon

The Planning Department has released the White Flint 2 Sector Plan Working/Staff Draft. Frankly, Friends of White Flint Executive Director Amy Ginsburg is still making her way through the 96-page plan. It’s long, it’s complex, it’s mostly interesting, but it is important.

You can read or skim the plan by clicking here. Our goal is to publish a summary of the plan at some point soon, but a detailed 96-page plan will not have a short, quick, or easy summary.

The Planning Board Public Hearing on this plan is Thursday, December 15. More information regarding the public hearing will be posted on the Planning Department's White Flint 2 web page. However, staff will present the plan to the Planning Board this afternoon.  You can watch it live through the Planning Board website, if you’re curious to hear what the staff has to say.

Happy reading!

Would you like to serve on the Friends of White Flint Board of Directors?

Friends of White Flint is governed by a volunteer board of directors composed of 18 members of the community. There are six resident members, six business members, and six property owner/developer members. The board meets a few times a year and is involved in policy decisions all year long, generally through phone calls and emails.

It's time to submit your nomination to serve on the Friends of White Flint board of directors.  There are three board members whose terms have expired (one resident, one business, and one property owner member,) though they may submit their names to be re-elected, as well as one vacant business member spot.  We are seeking nominations for one resident member, two business members, and one property owner member.

At the bottom of this email, you'll find the board nomination form which should be emailed to info@whiteflint.org by Wednesday, November 23rd.
