Recap of our meeting with EDTT

The AMR - One Health Consortium recently had a very successful meeting with our funders at Economic Development, Trade and Tourism, where we discussed the following:
  • Highlights of your work: EDTT expressed a lot interest in learning about the highlights of your work on a continuous basis. Please share your success stories with us (key publications, news stories, patents). We are developing a Stakeholder Bulletin in which we will share these items with those outside of our Consortium, including policy makers and our funders at EDTT.
  • Industry engagement: EDTT would like to see our investigators engage with small-to-medium size industry partners in creative and productive ways that moves our work forward, and brings economic value to Alberta and beyond. Please actively look for those collaborations, and be mindful that we will support you in those endeavors.
  • Knowledge user engagement: EDTT would like you to actively engage with knowledge users of your research. We are happy to support your outreach efforts, and will be actively reaching out to you to solicit event ideas to help make this an integrated part of our work as a Consortium.

  • Interests in antimicrobial coatings for infection control (for wound bandages/sealants, catheters, implants, high contact surfaces).
  • Interested in working with people to produce policy paper(s) against the miss use of antimicrobial metals (Ag, Cu, Zn etc.) in textiles in order to reduce resistance.
  • Sources of clinical isolates for MBA efficacy profiling.
  • Cell biologist/Immunologist for testing safety of our new MBA nanomaterials.
  • Those with novel or challenging biofilms for us to test MBA’s on
