The Week Ahead...
GET OUT THE VOTE!
Ohio 2021 General Election
Tuesday, November 2, 2021
Ohio is one week out from the 2021 General Election!
You have seven days to thoughtfully research your candidates and submit your ballot for school board members, city council officials, and seats on the court. Head to VOTE411.org to learn about the issues and read candidate responses.
Be sure to join us tomorrow evening for a virtual round table, hosted with the League of Women Voters, addressing hotly contested school board issues.
Four Northeast Ohio school board members will discuss the impact that issues centering COVID-19 protocol, curriculum development, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging initiatives are having on school board races, meetings, and student learning.

Turning to the State Board of Education (SBOE) and Ohio Statehouse, we are asking Ohioans to SPEAK OUT against the recent repeal of the Board Resolution to Condemn Racism and Advance Equity. Write to the SBOE, present public comment, and submit letters to the editors. Details below.
As anticipated, there is no scheduled activity around HB 322 and HB 327 this week. Please continue to ready your testimony for the next round of hearings.

NEXT SBOE MEETING: The SBOE is scheduled to meet again on November 15 -16. The agenda and meeting documents can be found HERE. The public is strongly encouraged to attend and/watch all SBOE meetings.
SPEAK OUT ABOUT RESOLUTION: Those disappointed or outraged about the recent repeal of the Board Resolution to Condemn Racism and Advance Equity are asked to submit and/or present public comment to the SBOE about their decision. Take a second step and submit a letter to the editor or op-ed. We must not be silent or idle about these blatant attacks against the condemnation of racism and the advancement of equity for Ohio's Black, Indigenous, and Students of Color.
