The Week Ahead...
This week, we mourn the loss of the State Board of Education Resolution to Condemn Racism and Advance Equity and Opportunity for Black Students, Indigenous Students, and Students of Color. The Board voted 10-7 to repeal the Resolution at last week's October Board meeting. Of the 10 votes to repeal, 6 were from ELECTED Board members.
This stain on the State Board of Education, and the ripple effects it will have, boldly underscore why we must scrutinize our elected officials, forcefully advocate for students and educators, and protect Honesty in Education at every level.
We thank and lift everyone who fought to defend this important framework and the countless students, families, and educators it impacted.
And we proudly honor the State Board of Education members who courageously drafted the Resolution in 2020, and those members who continue to defend its principles and guidance. Learn more HERE
Shifting to the Statehouse, there is no scheduled activity around HB 322 and HB 327. Please continue to submit those letters to the editors and ready your testimony for the next round of hearings.
Most importantly this week and next...
