February 8: Chinese New Year, Year of the Monkey.


Chinese New Year is the most widely celebrated holiday in China.  Also known as the Spring Festival, it represents the beginning of spring in the Chinese lunar calendar and is an important time for families to gather together.




Tax Information


All students with F-1 and J-1 visas are expected to submit federal and state tax information for themselves and their dependents for each year that you live in the U.S.

Each year the Center for Global Education (CGE) provides a comprehensive tax guide for international students (link below). This guide is the only tax information that CGE provides for students. If you have specific questions or need individual assistance, please contact the resources listed on pages 3 & 4 of the guide.

Academic Training Workshop for Students in J-1 Status


Academic Training (AT) provides permission for certain types of study-related employment for students with J-1 visas.  If you plan to complete an internship during your time at Edgewood and/or you would like to work in the U.S. after you complete your academic program, you should attend this Academic Training Workshop!   

When: Friday, February 19 from 10:00 – 11:00 am.
Where: Predolin 308
 


Spring Break

No classes: March 14 – March 18


Reminders:

Residence halls close on March 11 at 6 p.m. and re-open on March 20 at 12 p.m (No food service is available until dinner on Sunday, March 20, 2016).  If you want to stay in your residence hall room during break, you must complete a Break Housing Request Form and submit it to the Office of Residence Life (Predolin 215). Contact Claire Mand if you have any questions.

If you plan to travel outside the U.S. during Spring Break, you may need a travel validation signature on your I-20 or DS-2019.  Review the "Travel Outside The US" section of our website.
