HB 524 Study Committee Findings Published

During the month of October, Rebecca McWilliams chaired a study committee that was charged with finding and addressing barriers to business success in the child care industry. This was a bi-partisan team effort - Representative McWilliams worked with Representative Dennis Acton, Representative Samantha Fox, and Senator Sharon Carson. They hosted three public hearings and a work session to listen to child care owners, operators, regulators, and interested parties in order to develop the findings in the Final Report of the Committee to Study Issues and Impediments to Starting, Running, and Growing Home and Commercial Day Care Facilities in New Hampshire.

Representative McWilliams said, "This is a great opportunity for us a state to adjust our sails and make sure that we are doing everything we can to help child care centers and teachers who care deeply about the next generation of Granite Staters." The next steps in the study process include recommendations to the new DHHS Commissioner and proposed legislation in the 2020 House Session.
