Adopt-A-Highway is a Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) program designed to help keep the state's highway roadsides clean and attractive. Participants adopt both sides of a section of state highway roadside to clean up over a two-year period.
The DLIA adopted a 2 mile stretch of  Hwy 31 some years ago; 1 mile south and 1 mile north of the Van and 31 intersection.

News from Munro Township

Emergency Vehicle Clearance for Driveways

Our Fire Chief, Dan Socha has gone around Munro Township and inspected driveways for emergency vehicle use, such as fire trucks and ambulances. The new vehicles are getting bigger and need more clearances to get to resident's homes. Please make sure an ambulance or fire truck can get to your door by clearing driveways of trees and brush 14 feet high by 14' wide.
