Odawa Tribe Hatchery Tour - Tuesday, October 2, 2018
At the DLIA Annual Meeting on 8/20/18, our guest speaker Kevin Donner, Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians Great Lakes Fisheries Research Manager, extended an invitation to tour the tribal fish hatchery near Douglas Lake. This facility was constructed primarily for research and selected restocking projects.
The Hatchery Manager will give a tour Tuesday, October 2 at 10:30 AM.  
If you are interested in joining this tour (numbers are limited),
please contact Mary Ellen Sheridan at president@douglaslake.org.
We will communicate with logistical details one week before the tour.

Citizen Scientists Wanted !
Join us for Volunteer Stream Monitoring Training
on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 10:00am - 1:00pm
at the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council board room.
No prior experience necessary.

FREE TRAINING!  During the training session, you will learn about the various aspects of our stream monitoring program, general macroinvertebrate biology, and the equipment used to collect important data about the health of our local streams. You will also learn about the impacts of aquatic invasive species and how to identify them. A hands-on practicum at the Bear River is offered at the end of the training session so volunteers can “get their feet wet” before going into the field.
