South Shore Natural Gas Update
Natural gas mains have been installed within the public road right of way on the south side of Douglas Lake.  The contractor is currently installing individual service to those customers who have signed up for natural gas service. Natural gas mains will be installed within the private road right of way when all easements have been signed.  To date, 48 of the 50 required easements have been signed; just two more are needed.

Did you Know?  Feeding Waterfowl is Harmful

Is it good to feed waterfowl? No, artificial feeding is actually harmful to waterfowl.

Artificial feeding of waterfowl can cause many problems; poor nutrition, water pollution, delayed migration, and spread of disease to name a few.

Canada goose feces contain disease-causing organisms which include salmonella, giardia and cryptosporidium. While there are no proven links of human illness from exposure to the droppings from Canada Geese, some dogs seem to be particularly susceptible to giardia. You should keep your dog from snacking on goose droppings while out on walks.
