We have been working hard throughout this summer writing and recording our debut self-titled album 'Barrule', scheduled for official release in the UK next spring. Showcasing traditional and contemporary music from the Isle of Man, it features guest musicians from the island and further afield.
The album is currently only available at upcoming concerts and on the online shop
, however keep watching this space as an official UK launch tour will be announced in due course!
To go alongside the first track on the new album "Mylecharaine's March", we have recorded an HD promo video which you can now see for yourselves on YouTube here
! Special thanks to Grainne Joughin for her hard work directing and editing the video. Also thanks go to Charles Guard at the Manx Heritage Foundation, Andi Howland, Mark Cleator and the Gaiety Theatre staff for their help with filming the video.
Well it's been just over a month since we were playing at the world renowned 'Festival Interceltique de Lorient', and what a great time we had! It was the first major festival appearance for us as Barrule, as the group only started earlier in 2012, however we have all visited Lorient many times before with other groups.
The generosity and response from the people of Lorient was wonderful and really made us feel welcome.
Merçi Lorient, Trugarez, nous espérons vous voir bientôt!
Where better could you hope to be during the 17th-21st October than sitting by an enormous sandy beach sipping fine Cornish ales, eating tasty pasties and being surrounded by music and dance from all around the Celtic countries? All this and more can be had at Lowender Peran, the annual Interceltic festival held in Perranporth, Cornwall.
Barrule will be playing at the Saturday afternoon concert between 3:30 - 5:30pm, so why not pop down and see what the fuss is about?!

Oh, and it's Adam's birthday on the Sunday, so you can buy him a pint...
